SULAIMANI
— A mass grave was found in Garmian, south of Sulaimani province, on Thursday
(December 16), an official from Kurdish forces said.
Muhammad
Rostam, the deputy of Peshmerga forces in Qara Tapa – Kifri, said
in a statement to NRT the mass grave found in the village of Duraji in the area
of Dawda consists of 12 bodies of members of Iraqi police and emergency forces.
The statement also detailed that in 2018, the
officers were taken hostage by Islamic State (ISIS) militants and brought to
the area where they were forced to make video-taped confessions and then
murdered.
They were then buried in the mass grave located
in the hills between Tuz Khurmatu and Kifri districts.
