The Iraqi prime minister has approved the allocation of an aircraft to repatriate 151 Iraqi migrants currently detained in Libya, the Iraqi Embassy in Tripoli said.
Iraqi Ambassador to Libya Ahmed al-Sahaf said on Wednesday that all procedures for the return of the 151 Iraqi citizens have been completed. He added that the embassy has provided continuous support to the detainees, including food, clothing, drinking water, and other basic necessities.
According to al-Sahaf, Prime Minister Mohammed Shia al-Sudani agreed to provide an aircraft to transport the migrants back to Iraq in response to official requests submitted through the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Meanwhile, families of several detained youths from the Raparin administration have called on the relevant authorities to intensify efforts to secure the safe return of their sons from Libya.
