The General Directorate of Health in Sulaimanyah announced that 18,760 patients visited the Heart Hospital last year, with 7,867 of them admitted for treatment.
In a statement released on Tuesday, the directorate said that the hospital carried out 5,802 cardiac resuscitations, 451 heart surgeries, 2,870 catheterization procedures and 1,683 balloon insertions during the year.
The statement also noted that medical teams performed 4,680 echocardiograms, 2,977 CT scans, handled 3,377 cardiac emergency cases, and conducted 36,315 laboratory tests at the hospital over the same period.
