The New Generation Movement said that its leader, Shaswar Abdulwahid Qadir, has not been released despite the expiration of his prison term and that his health condition has deteriorated, prompting his transfer to hospital.
Himdad Shahin, spokesman for the New Generation Movement, told NRT that Shaswar Abdulwahid Qadir remains in detention even though his sentence has ended. He said the movement’s leader is in poor health and has been taken to hospital for treatment.
Shahin added that the decision on the presidential issue in the Iraqi parliament will be made by Shaswar Abdulwahid Qadir himself. He also said that the New Generation Movement has a project to participate in the Iraqi government and has not yet held talks with any political party.
