The Forestry and Environment Police announced that a massive fire broke out on Sunday in the villages of Chork, Chala Khazena, and Qaziawa in Sharbazher, Zalan district of Sulaimani province.
According to the police, the fire was caused by an electrical short circuit and destroyed around 1,000 acres of forest. Firefighting teams, along with local residents, managed to bring the blaze under control shortly after it spread.
