Iran is scheduled to meet with Britain and two European powers today to discuss its nuclear program.
The meeting, set at the level of deputy foreign ministers in Geneva on Tuesday, comes after European countries threatened to allow the United States to impose sanctions on Iran if it does not comply.
Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Ismail Baghaei said on Wednesday that European threats would not change the situation.
Meanwhile, Ali Larijani, the new secretary of the Supreme National Security Council, said Tehran had an agreement that should have expired within 10 years and could no longer be extended.
European media report that the three countries view the talks as Iran’s last chance before sanctions are imposed.
