SULAIMANI — At least two people were killed and 13 others
injured in the collapse of a building in Baghdad on Saturday (October 1), the
Civil Defense Directorate said.
The four-floor building collapsed in the district of Karrada
on Saturday and the cause of the incident is still unknown, the directorate
said in a statement.
An NRT reporter said civil defense teams are still working
to rescue people trapped under the remains of the building.
The leader of the National Wisdom Movement, Ammar al-Hakim,
has called on the authorities to investigate the cause of the building’s
collapse.
