Iraq’s September oil revenue tops $8.7 billion

SULAIMANI — The Iraqi Ministry of Oil announced on Saturday (October 1) its oil revenues in September amounted to more than $8 billion.

The ministry said in a statement that according to data from Iraq's State Organization for Marketing Oil (SOMO), 98,765,153 barrels of crude oil were sold in September, with revenue amounting to $8.773 billion.

Oil revenue in September fell below previous totals for August, 2022. The revenue for August reached more than $9 billion, and in July reached $10.608 billion.

The statement also noted 2,169,292 barrels in total were from Kirkuk's oil fields and 96,445,421 barrels were from oil fields in the middle and south of Iraq.

The ministry stated 3,292,000 barrels were produced daily.
