SULAIMANI —The Coordination Framework announced the head of
the State of Law Coalition Nuri al-Maliki and Hadi al-Amiri, the leader of the
Fatah Alliance have withdrawn their candidacies for the post of Prime Minister
of Iraq.
The Coordination Framework must have a unanimous decision on
candidates for the top positions in the nation, the bloc stated.
The framework said Maliki and Amiri have shown their
acceptance and promised to take an advisory role.
The bloc also announced it rejects any act of espionage or
leaking of information targeting religious and political figures in Iraq.
Several informed sources told Iraqi media following the
Coordination Framework’s meeting that the parties in the bloc agreed the prime minister's candidate must be
approved by all Iraqi parties and important decisions would pass by a majority
vote.
The Coordination Framework had earlier announced the issue
of the presidential candidate would be settled within 72 hours
