SULAIMANI — The Kurdistan Regional Government’s (KRG) Ministry of Health announced on Monday (September 20) it officially recorded 1,285 new cases of coronavirus infection over the past 24 hours.

There were 465 new cases in Sulaimani Governorate, 396 in Duhok, 334 in Erbil, 37 in Halabja, 28 in the Garmian administration, and 25 in the Raparin administration.

On July 26, the Region recorded its highest single-day total with 3,559 infections.

The ministry also said twelve patients had died from the disease, while 1,175 others recovered.

According to the health ministry, there have been 320,105 officially-recorded cases of coronavirus infection in the Kurdistan Region. An official tally of 286,525 patients have recovered from COVID-19 and 5,724 have died from it.
