464 new cases of COVID-19 recorded in Kurdistan Region: ministry

SULAIMANI — The Kurdistan Regional Government’s (KRG) Ministry of Health announced on Saturday (October 16) it officially recorded 464 new cases of coronavirus infection over the past 24 hours.

There were 311 new cases in Duhok governorate, 68 in Sulaimani, 57 in Erbil, and 28 in the Raparin administration.

On July 26, the Region recorded its highest single-day total with 3,559 infections.

The ministry also said twenty patients had died from the disease, while 1,608 others recovered.

According to the health ministry, there have been 349,048 officially-recorded cases of coronavirus infection in the Kurdistan Region. An official tally of 323,647 patients have recovered from COVID-19 and 6,124 have died from it.

The numbers are almost certainly an undercount.
