SULAIMANI — Iraq’s Ministry of Health said on Friday (October 15) that it received a new shipment of one million doses of Sinopharm-produced COVID-19 vaccine.

It said that the doses will be distributed to health centers across Iraq and the Kurdistan Region.

Charge d'affaires of the Chinese Embassy in Iraq Jian Fangning said "we are pleased to deliver the fourth shipment of the vaccine provided by the Chinese government.”

On October 3, the ministry received 1.155 million doses of vaccine through the COVAX facility, a UN-affiliated program designed to ensure worldwide vaccine access.
