The Sulaimani silo has announced that the wheat collection process for the 2025 season will begin tomorrow, starting with farmers from the Piramagrun and Tanjaro (Arbat) agricultural departments. According to Nawzad Sheikh Kamil, Director General of Commerce at the Ministry of Commerce, the process will continue until the 10th of next month.
Farmers will be compensated based on the grade of their wheat, with first-grade wheat priced at 850,000 Iraqi dinars per ton and second-grade at 800,000 dinars per ton. Sulaimani has allocated 145,000 tons of wheat for this season, while Halabja will receive 13,000 tons.
Strict guidelines have been issued for truck deliveries: all trucks must be full and lined up in a single row, with only the driver permitted to accompany each vehicle. Trucks modified to carry extra grain using raised platforms will not be accepted, and only self-dumping trucks will be processed. These regulations aim to ensure fairness and efficiency during the month-long collection period.
