The Iraqi High Election Commission (IHEC) has announced that more than 105,000 individuals have applied to work as polling station employees in the upcoming parliamentary elections.
According to the commission, a total of 105,561 applications were received since the registration process opened on June 3.
IHEC estimates that it will require approximately 200,000 staff to manage and oversee the electoral process on voting day. Applicants include current employees, university graduates, and students.
Successful applicants will receive financial compensation for their participation. University and college graduates will be paid 250,000 Iraqi dinars, while students will receive 150,000 dinars, along with a letter of appreciation from the commission.
