SULAIMANI—A 10-year-old child caused a nearly two-hour delay to a Najaf Airport flight on Tuesday (May 24).

A security source told the Iraqi media that a child managed to pass through the airport's security checkpoints and reached an Iranian plane in an attempt to beg for money from the passengers.

The source added that the plane was about to take off when a security member spotted the child and escorted them out of the airport.

In March, the Iraqi Ministry of Interior said that those who use children to beg for money would be arrested for the crime of human trafficking.
