SULAIMANI — Kuwait Airways has temporarily suspended all
flights to Iraq due to "current conditions” in the country, the airline
announced on Saturday (January 29).
The orders came from the General Administration of Kuwaiti
Civil Aviation, the announcement noted.
Missiles were fired at Baghdad International Airport early
on Friday morning and a civilian plane that was no longer in use was badly
damaged in the attack.
Camp Victory military base located nearby also came under
drone attack, which the missile defense system managed to intercept.
US forces struck down two armed drones targeting Camp
Victory, a US airbase, on January 3. Missile attacks have regularly targeted
the complex over the past few years.
