SULAIMANI — The Global Coalition to Defeat the Islamic
State (ISIS) said on Wednesday (January 5) five rockets were fired at Ain al-Assad Airbase in Anbar governorate, with the closest landing 2km outside the base.
The coalition said there were no casualties and called
the attack a "reckless act,” stating it could have hurt people living in the
area.
Two drones targeting the same airbase, which hosts
coalition troops, were shot down earlier in the week on Tuesday.
A Katyusha rocket landed at Camp Victory in Baghdad in
another incident earlier on Wednesday and security forces discovered a rocket
launcher in al-Jihad neighborhood not far from Baghdad International Airport.
