SULAIMANI — The families of migrants who went missing after their vessel sank near the Greek island of Folegandros on Tuesday (December 21) are asking the Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG) to help them find out the fate of their family members.

An NRT reporter said the migrants were traveling across the Aegean Sea in an inflatable dinghy near Folegandros, 180km southeast of Athens.

The Greek coast guard said at least three bodies were discovered at sea and 12 people were taken to the island of Santorini after they were rescued.

Police and rescue teams are still searching for dozens of missing people. The Greek coast guard said all the passengers on the dinghy were believed to be from Iraq.
