210 new cases of COVID-19 recorded in Kurdistan Region: ministry

SULAIMANI — The Kurdistan Regional Government’s (KRG) Ministry of Health announced on Sunday (December 5) it officially recorded 210 new cases of coronavirus infection over the past 24 hours.

There were 113 new cases in Erbil governorate, 57 in Sulaimani, 29 in Duhok, and ten in Garmian administration, and one in Raparin administration.

On July 26, the Region recorded its highest single-day total with 3,559 infections.

The ministry also said three patients had died from the disease, while 403 others recovered.

According to the health ministry, there have been 376,868 officially-recorded cases of coronavirus infection in the Kurdistan Region. An official tally of 365,071 patients have recovered from COVID-19 and 6,926 have died from it.

The numbers are almost certainly an undercount.
