162 new cases of COVID-19 recorded in Kurdistan Region: ministry

SULAIMANI — The Kurdistan Regional Government’s (KRG) Ministry of Health announced on Saturday (December 4) it officially recorded 162 new cases of coronavirus infection over the past 24 hours.

There were 127 new cases in Duhok governorate, seventeen in Sulaimani, twelve in Erbil, and six in Raparin administration.

On July 26, the Region recorded its highest single-day total with 3,559 infections.

The ministry also said three patients had died from the disease, while 401 others recovered.

According to the health ministry, there have been 376,658 officially-recorded cases of coronavirus infection in the Kurdistan Region. An official tally of 364,668 patients have recovered from COVID-19 and 6,914 have died from it.

The numbers are almost certainly an undercount.
