435 new cases of COVID-19 recorded in Kurdistan Region: ministry

SULAIMANI — The Kurdistan Regional Government’s (KRG) Ministry of Health announced on Wednesday (December 1) it officially recorded 435 new cases of coronavirus infection over the past 24 hours.

There were 153 new cases in Duhok governorate, 128 in Erbil, 86 in Sulaimani, and 59 in the Garmian administration, eight in Raparin administration, and one in Halabja.

On July 26, the Region recorded its highest single-day total with 3,559 infections.

The ministry also said nineteen patients had died from the disease, while 412 others recovered.

According to the health ministry, there have been 375,845 officially-recorded cases of coronavirus infection in the Kurdistan Region. An official tally of 363,401 patients have recovered from COVID-19 and 6,894 have died from it.

The numbers are almost certainly an undercount.
