423 new cases of COVID-19 recorded in Kurdistan Region: ministry

SULAIMANI — The Kurdistan Regional Government’s (KRG) Ministry of Health announced on Monday (November 29) it officially recorded 423 new cases of coronavirus infection over the past 24 hours.

There were 178 new cases in Erbil governorate, 169 in Duhok, 71 in Sulaimani, four in the Raparin administration, and one in Halabja.

On July 26, the Region recorded its highest single-day total with 3,559 infections.

The ministry also said eight patients had died from the disease, while 478 others recovered.

According to the health ministry, there have been 375,099 officially-recorded cases of coronavirus infection in the Kurdistan Region. An official tally of 362,501 patients have recovered from COVID-19 and 6,865 have died from it.

The numbers are almost certainly an undercount.
