468 new cases of COVID-19 recorded in Kurdistan Region: ministry

SULAIMANI — The Kurdistan Regional Government’s (KRG) Ministry of Health announced on Thursday (November 26) it officially recorded 468 new cases of coronavirus infection over the past 24 hours.

There were 165 new cases in Duhok governorate, 162 in Erbil, 116 in Sulaimani, seventeen in the Garmian administration, five in the Raparin administration, and three in Halabja.

On July 26, the Region recorded its highest single-day total with 3,559 infections.

The ministry also said twelve patients had died from the disease, while 529 others recovered.

According to the health ministry, there have been 374,167 officially-recorded cases of coronavirus infection in the Kurdistan Region. An official tally of 361,068 patients have recovered from COVID-19 and 6,840 have died from it.

The numbers are almost certainly an undercount.
