SULAIMANI — The Kurdistan Regional Government’s (KRG) Ministry of Health announced on Monday (October 25) it officially recorded 1,002 new cases of coronavirus infection over the past 24 hours.

There were 433 new cases in Erbil governorate, 280 in Duhok, 179 in Sulaimani, 66 in the Raparin administration, 35 in the Garmian administration, and nine in Halabja.

On July 26, the Region recorded its highest single-day total with 3,559 infections.

The ministry also said twenty-three patients had died from the disease, while 1,393 others recovered.

According to the health ministry, there have been 357,313 officially-recorded cases of coronavirus infection in the Kurdistan Region. An official tally of 335,858 patients have recovered from COVID-19 and 6,308 have died from it.
