SULAIMANI — Iraq’s Civil Aviation Authority (ICAA) said on Thursday (October 15) that flights to and from Turkey have resumed, following bans that prevented flights for most of the last two-and-a-half months.

There will be at least seven flights in each direction per week to start.

Turkey initially suspended flights to and from Iraq, including the Kurdistan Region, on August 2 in response to the continued coronavirus outbreak in its southern neighbor. The suspension was extended twice, with one brief resumption at the beginning of October.
