666 new coronavirus cases recorded in Kurdistan Region: ministry

SULAIMANI — The Kurdistan Regional Government’s (KRG) Ministry of Health said on Thursday (September 24) that it has recorded 666 cases of coronavirus infection in the Kurdistan Region over the past 24 hours.

A total of 271 of the newest cases are in Duhok governorate, along with 219 in Erbil, 108 in Sulaimani, 41 in Halabja, 27 in Garmian.

The ministry also said that twenty patients have died from the virus, while 455 patients recovered from the disease.

According to the health ministry, there have been 43,989 cases of coronavirus in the Kurdistan Region. An official tally of 28,153 patients has recovered from COVID-19 and 1,592 have died from it.
