3,325 new COVID-19 cases recorded in Iraq: ministry

SULAIMANI — The federal Ministry of Health said on Friday (August 7) that it recorded 3,325 new cases of coronavirus and 74 deaths in the country over the past 24 hours.

A total of 879 of the newest cases are in Baghdad governorate, along with 297 in Basra, 293 in Kirkuk, 269 in Najaf, 259 in Erbil, 241 in Babil, 239 in Karbala, 196 in Wasit, 121 in Nineveh, 110 in Diwaniya, 106 in Diyala, 104 in Sulaimani, 97 in Saladin, 87 in Maysan, 63 in Muthanna, 60 in Anbar, 50 in Duhok and 34 in Dhi Qar.

The ministry said that 74 patients died from COVID-19, the disease caused by coronavirus infection, 2,307 patients recovered from it.

According to the health ministry, there have been 147,389 cases of coronavirus in Iraq. 105,504 patients have recovered from COVID-19 and 5,310 have died from it.
