SULAIMANI — A member of the Council of Representatives on Saturday (August 8) demanded that the federal Ministry of Health and Environment provide information about recent medical supply purchases worth $20 billion, in order to ensure that they were free of corruption.

“I asked the health ministry to give me the text of the deals it signed purchasing medical devices and medicines,” Jawad al-Mousawi said in a statement, giving the ministry a deadline of fifteen days to provide the information.

The MP said that he was making the request “in the light of information that hints at the presence of corruption.”
