4,326 new COVID-19 cases reported in Iraq: ministry

SULAIMANI — The federal Ministry of Health said on Thursday (September 17) that it recorded 4,326 new cases of coronavirus infection and 84 deaths in the country.

Of the total, 1,199 of the newest cases are in Baghdad governorate, along with 382 in Basra, 305 in Duhok, 268 in Dhi Qar, 264 in Wasit, 226 in Diwaniya, 223 in Najaf, 213 in Saladin, 206 in Erbil, 180 in Erbil, 169 in Sulaimani, 156 in Karbala, 122 in Nineveh, 117 in Kirkuk, 113 in Babil, 98 in Muthanna, 50 in Diyala and 35 in Anbar.

The ministry said that 84 patients died from COVID-19, the disease caused by coronavirus infection, and 3,859 patients recovered from it.

According to the health ministry, there have been 307,385 cases of coronavirus in Iraq. 241,100 patients have recovered from COVID-19 and 8,332 have died from it.
