One killed, six injured in ISIS attack in Diyala – officer

SULAIMANI — One person was killed and six others injured in an Islamic State (ISIS) attack on the village of Eslah in Diyala’s Jalawla sub-district on Monday (May 23), said Falah Muhammad, an officer at the district police station.

Muhammad told NRT ISIS militants conducted an attack on farmers in the village, adding a farmer named Adnan Osman was slain while six others were wounded, including one woman.

The officer said support forces were notified and rushed to the farmers’ rescue and the militants escaped.

Earlier on Monday evening, ISIS militants attacked Popular Mobilization Forces and local farmers in Taze Khurmatu, south of Kirkuk, where six people were killed in the assault.
