KRG allocates 1.5bn IQD to equip educational institutions

SULAIMANI — The Kurdistan Regional Government’s (KRG) Ministry of Education said on Wednesday (December 8) that the KRG has allocated 1.5 billion Iraqi dinars ($1 million) for the purchase of necessary equipment to the ministry’s educational institutions.

The ministry said in a statement that the fund will be used to buy nearly 5,000 school seats, 5,000 whiteboards, 1,500 kerosene heaters, and 500 laptops, in addition to more than 1.5 million protective masks and 6,700 cleaning supplies

It said that the equipment will be distributed to the schools based on the need and number of students in them.

The decision covers schools in the Kurdistan Region’s governorates and administrations and Kurdish Education in Kirkuk.
