SULAIMANI — The Kurdistan Regional Government’s (KRG) Ministry of Health announced on Thursday (October 21) it officially recorded 1,076 new cases of coronavirus infection over the past 24 hours.

There were 501 new cases in Erbil governorate, 240 in Duhok, 205 in Sulaimani, 63 in the Raparin administration, 44 in Halabja, and twenty-three in the Garmian administration.

On July 26, the Region recorded its highest single-day total with 3,559 infections.

The ministry also said 28 patients had died from the disease, while 1,313 others recovered.

According to the health ministry, there have been 353,905 officially-recorded cases of coronavirus infection in the Kurdistan Region. An official tally of 330,640 patients have recovered from COVID-19 and 6,216 have died from it.
