248 new coronavirus cases recorded in Kurdistan Region: ministry

SULAIMANI — The Kurdistan Regional Government’s (KRG) Ministry of Health announced on Thursday (December 3) it had recorded 248 new cases of the novel coronavirus infections in the Region over the past 24 hours.

A total of 97 of the newest cases were in Erbil governorate, along with 69 in Sulaimani, 65 in Duhok, thirteen in the Garmain administration and four in Halabja governorate.

On October 27, the Region recorded the highest single-day COVID-19 cases with 1,597 infections.

The Ministry also said nine patients had died from the virus, while 177 recovered from the disease.

According to the health ministry, there have been 97,584 officially-recorded cases of the coronavirus in the Kurdistan Region. An official tally of 61,203 patients have recovered from COVID-19 and 3,195 have died from it.
