Kurdistan Region records more than 1,000 new coronavirus cases for second day in a row

SULAIMANI — The Kurdistan Regional Government’s (KRG) Ministry of Health said on Tuesday (October 20) that it has recorded 1,010 cases of coronavirus infection in the Kurdistan Region over the past 24 hours.

A total of 445 of the newest cases are in Duhok governorate, along with 305 in Erbil, 164 in Sulaimani, 40 in the Raparin administration, 28 in the Garmian administration, and 28 in Halabja.

The ministry also said that twenty-four patients have died from the virus, while 353 recovered from the disease.

According to the health ministry, there have been 63,745 officially recorded cases of coronavirus in the Kurdistan Region. An official tally of 38,186 patients has recovered from COVID-19 and 2,211 have died from it.
