Travel between Garmian Administration and disputed areas halted

SULAIMANI — Local officials working in the Garmian administration’s coronavirus operations room said on Tuesday (August 4) that travel between the administration and the disputed areas has been halted for one week due to the continued outbreak.

It also issued renewed public health restrictions and extended others.

All markets, restaurants, places of business, medical clinics, dentists, laboratories, public places, parks, cafeterias, teahouses, sports halls, gyms, and swimming pools that remain in operation should adhere to social distancing and mask guidelines. Otherwise, they will be closed for ten days and the owners will be fined 1,000,000 Iraqi dinars.

Gatherings for funerals, weddings, and other social events remain prohibited.

Private sector companies should adhere to the regulations as well, especially in terms of wearing face masks, and will be fined 150,000 Iraqi dinars ($128.86) for noncompliance.
