SULAIMANI — The Iraq Civil Aviation Authority (ICAA) decided on Wednesday (July 1) to extend its ban on international passenger flights into and out of the country until July 15.

“The ban does not include flights related to the Red Cross, military, health supplies, emergencies, and cargo flights,” Sulaimani International Airport said in a statement.

All normal international and local flights in Iraq have been banned since March 17 to curb the spread of coronavirus.

There have been a number of limited repatriation and special flights, including some operated by Qatar Airways, that have flown people out of the Kurdistan Region.
