259 new coronavirus cases in Kurdistan Region: health ministry

SULAIMANI — The Kurdistan Regional Government’s (KRG) Ministry of Health said on Wednesday (July 1) that it has recorded 259 new cases of coronavirus infection in the Kurdistan Region.

A total of 92 of the newest cases are in Sulaimani governorate, 80 in Erbil, 69 in the Garmian administration, and eighteen in Halabja.

The ministry also said that six patients died from the virus, including three from Sulaimani and one each in Erbil, Rapparin Administration, and Garmian, while 223 patients recovered from the disease.

According to the health ministry, there have been 6,403 cases of coronavirus in the Kurdistan Region. An official tally of 2,078 patients have recovered from COVID-19, the disease caused by coronavirus infection, and 213 have died from it.
