2,415 new cases of coronavirus recorded in Iraq: ministry

SULAIMANI — The federal Ministry of Health said on Tuesday (June 30) that it recorded 2,415 new cases of coronavirus and 107 deaths in the country over the past 24 hours.

A total of 618 of the newest cases are in Baghdad governorate, 252 in Dhi Qar, 185 in Diwaniya, 181 in Sulaimani, 173 in Basra, 165 in Najaf, 131 in Babil, 123 in Wasit, 115 in Karbala, 111 in Muthanna, 93 in Maysan, 75 in Kirkuk, 68 in Diyala, 58 in Erbil, 38 in Saladdin, twenty in Nineveh, eight in Anbar, and one in Duhok.

The ministry said that 107 patients died from the virus and 1,507 patients recovered from COVID-19, the disease caused by coronavirus infection.

According to the health ministry, there have been 51,524 cases of coronavirus in Iraq. 26,267 patients have recovered from COVID-19, and 2,050 have died from it.
