SULAIMANI — The federal Ministry of Defense said on Tuesday (June 30) that ten Islamic State (ISIS) militants were killed in an airstrike by warplanes belonging to the international coalition working to defeat the militant group.

The Ministry of Defense’s Security Media Cell said in a statement that the airstrike hit a tunnel at the Ain al-Jahsh quarries in the southern part of Nineveh governorate.

A militant leader was reportedly among the dead.

ISIS militants use parts of the disputed areas and other rural areas as bases of operations to launch attacks on the security forces and civilians.
