Kurdistan Region passes 6,000 official coronavirus cases: ministry

SULAIMANI — The Kurdistan Regional Government’s (KRG) Ministry of Health said on Tuesday (June 30) that it has recorded 240 new cases of coronavirus infection in the Kurdistan Region.

A total of 110 of the newest cases are in Sulaimani governorate, 71 in the Garmian administration, 58 in Erbil, and one in Duhok.

The ministry also said that seven patients died from the virus, including six from Sulaimani and one in the Garmian administration, while 88 patients recovered from the disease.

According to the health ministry, there have been 6,144 cases of coronavirus in the Kurdistan Region. An official tally of 1,855 patients have recovered from COVID-19, the disease caused by coronavirus infection, and 207 have died from it.
