1,958 new coronavirus cases recorded in Iraq: ministry

SULAIMANI — The federal Ministry of Health said on Tuesday (June 30) that it recorded 1,958 new cases of coronavirus and 104 deaths in the country over the past 24 hours.

A total of 539 of the newest cases are in Baghdad governorate, 340 in Dhi Qar, 248 in Basra, 146 in Sulaimani, 119 in Karbala, 102 in Maysan,  85 in Erbil, 84 in Najaf,  75 in Diyala, 53 in Kirkuk, 65 in Diwaniya, 39 in Wasit, 30 in Babil, fourteen in Saladin, nine in Nineveh, five in Muthanna, four in Anbar, and one in Duhok.

The ministry said that 104 patients died from the virus and 1,786 patients recovered from COVID-19, the disease caused by coronavirus infection.

According to the health ministry, there have been 49,109 cases of coronavirus in Iraq. 24,760 patients have recovered from COVID-19, and 1,943 have died from it.
