One killed, two wounded in Ranya shooting: police

SULAIMANI — Police in the Raparin administration said on Monday night (June 29) that one person was killed and two others were wounded in a shooting in Ranya.

“At 9:30 p.m., the body of a 30-year-old [man], who is from Ranya, was brought to the Ranya forensic medicine office with bullet wounds,” Raparin police said.

The victim’s 38-year-old brother and a 17-year-old were also shot, but are expected to survive.

The shooting occurred during an argument at a furniture shop in the city owned by the two brothers.

“An arrest warrant has been issued under the Article of 406 of the Iraqi Penal Code for the shooter,” the police added.
